Good explanation. The part that I like the most is where you separated the different modes into the genres of music that they are most common with.

Nice article,IMO I have to say that I think using modes should be in a modal type harmony, while in functional harmony targeting the chord tones and using the progression’s key center should be the prefer way.

I have experimented with modes and you can certainly use them to come up with ideas for new songs with a different feel. I think you have provided some good information here.
